On your first visit, a full medical case history will be taken and any prior examinations such as blood tests, scans, X-rays etc. will be taken into consideration. An examination will then be carried out and you will be asked to remove some items of clothing for this. Any patient that feels uncomfortable undressing may wear shorts and/or a loose T-shirt so we can work around the area. We will then assess your spine and relevant limb movements related to your problem. Any findings will be discussed with you along with a diagnosis and if osteopathic treatment is suitable, it will be offered to you. Treatment will be aimed at helping to restore normal joint stability and function by looking at the root causes of a problem not just the symptoms.
The initial consultation and treatment will last for approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour. Subsequent treatments last for approximately 30 minutes.
As well as the normal practice, senior citizen clinic is available every Wednesday for patients over the age of 65. Treatments are given at discounted rates. (See Fees)
